What Makes Glen Burnie Unique?

  • B & A Trail -  is a 13.3-mile rail trail in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The trail starts at Boulter's Way in Arnold, and ends near Baltimore Light Rail's Cromwell Station in Glen Burnie. Starting near Annapolis, the trail passes through Arnold, Severna Park, Millersville, Pasadena, and Glen Burnie. The Baltimore & Annapolis Trail follows the route of the Baltimore & Annapolis Railroad from which it derives its name. The trail opened in 1990 as the second "rail trail" in the state.
  • Harundale Mall -  one of the first enclosed shopping malls, was located in Glen Burnie, Maryland, United States at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Aquahart Road. Harundale Mall has been replaced by Harundale Plaza located at the same location. The mall was built in Anne Arundel County by James Rouse who later developed Columbia, Maryland, one of the first modern planned communities, in Howard County. Harundale Mall rivaled Southdale Center in Minnesota, the "other" indoor mall at the time.
  • Ritchie Highway - is home to Glen Burnie's three malls. The retail linchpin of Harundale Plaza is Value City. Glen Burnie Mall offers a bit more variety, with a Best Buy, Toys R Us, Dick's Sporting Goods, the Chuck E. Cheese-like kiddie playland Jeepers and Sticks and Stuff, a furniture showroom that features bed headboards the size of small elephants.
